About Kendra Rae

I am a fashion designer who has a love for all things sustainable. With fashion being at the forefront of the climate crisis. It is important that new designers figure out a way to find their path in a sustainable future.

I started constructing garments through cosplay which grew into a love of making clothing. I found myself going back to school to deepen my knowledge in fashion and garment construction. It was during the process of creating garments that I realized how much waste comes from this industry and my passion for creating sustainably was born. I attended City College of San Francisco and through them I was able to take advantage their scholarship program. I created a sustainable five-piece capsule collection in a competition of students. I was fortunate to win and received a scholarship to the Academy of Art University.

It was at AAU that I discovered a passion for 3D printing. This has led me down a journey of figuring out how we can create with 3D printing while we keep it sustainable. We are at the brink of some boundary pushing elements between technology and fashion. I am here to explore what that looks like and hoping to be the change that I want to see.
